Replacement Pickups for Rickenbacker® Bass

Our Classic Rick replacement pickups are accurately built replacement pickups which deliver the unique tone of the vintage pickups which are no longer available from Rickenbacker.

Classic Rick Button TopTM Bridge Pickup

$155.00 -USD + shipping

Classic Rick  Flat TopTM  Bridge Pickup

$160.00 -USD + shipping

Our Button TopTM is an accurate recreation of the 70's era bridge pickups which used the round rivet-head poles. I make each one by hand in my shop, this pickup is built with the same materials and methods as original pickups with our improved bobbin core which retains the traditional Rick tone but gives you much more of it.

Our Flat TopTM is an accurate recreation of the 60's era bridge pickup which used a flatter (pan head slotted screw) poles. Our Flat-top poles give the pickup the tone of the early pickup which is a little different response than the later button-top pickup. I make each one by hand in my shop, this pickup is built with the same materials and methods as original pickups with our improved bobbin core which retains the traditional Rick tone but gives you much more of it.

Scatter-wound with #44 wire on my hand-made FR4 bobbin cores, I use much better magnets than the weak OEM compound-rubber magnet (ie; refrigerator magnet). With individual magnets for each pole piece allowing for better string balance and tone articulation and my customers tell me the difference is amazing.

Standard vintage replacement wind is 7.6K -to- 8.3K DCR, or if you wish I can custom wind yours to your own spec, no additional charge.

I use a much better wire-lead method, we've replaced the bare un-shielded (hum antennas) leads and solder joints under the pickups of the OEM wiring method and instead my bridge pickups have the signal wires shielded entirely to the pickup coil for the lowest possible stray hum/noise.

We make a 5 string version for 4001/4003 instruments:

NOTE: the 5 string version does not work with tubeampology bezels

We make a "Shoe-less" V63/C64 in Black:

or with Chrome poles

With our pickups installed in your Rickenbacker® you can finaly keep up with other modern instruments while retaining that classic tone, and a modern Rick can finally get that vintage tone you likely bought it for, and been missing!.

Have a Pacific-Rim Copy?
(AliExpress, Weifang, Rebon, Rockinbetter, etc)

You'll know by now it doesn't sound exactly like a Rick,
and you'll probably also know the bridge has a wider
string spacing than a genuine Ric, therefore you can't
just drop-in a replacement pickup:

No worries!
I make a pickup for those instruments too
with a pole spacing to suit the wider bridge
but built to get the proper vintage Ric tone.

$155.00 -USD + shipping

To order one of these pickups, just order a normal pickup
(or set) with the above links, then email me after you place
your order and I will adjust the paperwork on my end.
